RAGBRAI COMES TO SOLON ON FRIDAY, JULY 25, 2008!
Far from being an actual shipwreck, and definitely not taking three hours to pass through, SOLON nevertheless is the perfect place to start your Friday trek on RAGBRAI. As you travel from North Liberty you will see water! Lots and lots of water! You will also see beautiful trails as you pass over the Coralville Lake and Lake Macbride bridges. SOLON is the eastern gateway to the beautiful Lake Macbride State Park. As you leave SOLON you will encounter the rolling hills of northern Johnson County and the many acres of fertile soil that produces the finest grains known to man. You will enjoy the views as you make your way to historic Sutliff. SOLON is a fantastic place to put down roots!!
As you pass through SOLON, we encourage you to take a break from your ride and experience the joys of small town life through scrumptious HOME BAKED items, cold WATER, hot FOOD and yes, even at 6, 7, or 8 o’clock in the morning, ice cold BEER at our local establishments!
